No To GRM - Petition

A group of Palestinian civil society organizations in the Gaza Strip launched a petition targeted at the U.N. Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process titled, “No to 'Gaza Reconstruction Mechanism', Open Gaza to Build.” The petition demands: “1) Ending the GRM which exposes Palestinians to further harm in contravention of human rights and fundamental humanitarian principles; 2) Unconditional opening of Gaza to allow for the reconstruction of destroyed homes, hospitals, clinics, factories, workshops, schools, water and sanitation facilities and other destroyed structures.” Although Aid Watch Palestine thought the approach could have been more strategic, we fully support efforts by Palestinians in Gaza to hold the international aid system accountable.
